Parsley Sounds
Preston Mead and Danny Sargassa formed Parsley Sound in 2001 having previously recorded under the name of Slum. for Warp records
They hooked an NME single of the week with their first release on Mowax followed by the critically acclaimed album Parsley Sounds moving Pitchfork to suggest that they had created a new sonic vocabulary with their music.
After the album and with Mowax no longer in operation they took a couple of years off and got day jobs returning with 2 EP’s on independent label Destructible as well as a remix for John Cale of the Velvets appearing on his album Hobosapiens
In their spare time the self confessed failed jazz musicians began sowing the seeds of new material of which Devotions is the first product in what they hope will be a new album for Stop Start records in 2010.
They came to the attention of Stop Start after producing a remix for G.Prokoviev’s Concerto for Turntables.
They cite their main influences as ranging from 60’s psychedelia to Krautrock with some Gainsbourg,Slint and Boards of Canada in the mix.
